The subject consists of two sub-subjects:
a) Slovene-French interlingual communication
b) Translation-Oriented French Idiomatics and stylistics

Slovene-French interlingual communication
Students reinforce their knowledge and skills gained in the first year in Slovene and French text formation and translation from French into Slovene; by working with selected general texts they familiarize themselves with translation problems and how to solve them.
Translating selected general texts with various functions from French into Slovene and vice versa.

Translation-oriented French idiomatics and stylistics:
Contrastive phraseme classification and typification, use in various text types and genres, phraseme connotation, distinguishing between the following basic terms: "fully, partially, or non-idiomatized fixed word phrase, saying, proverb, slogan, and phraseme modification in terms of structure and meaning" from an interlinguistic and intercultural point of view; learning about the most well-known or most frequently used phrasemes; defining the basic stylistic concepts: learning about and distinguishing between stylistic elements and figures within individual text types, categorization and typification of styles with regard to text types with special culturally conditioned features relevant for translation practice.
