Upgrading knowledge of the basic socio-linguistic terminology and its extension to language planning dimension. The methodology of qualitative and quantitative sociolinguistic research. The definition of language policy and its relation to language planning in different contexts.
Design and implementation of the status of the Slovenian language in monolingual, bilingual and multilingual environments. Planning Slovene language competence as the first, second and as a foreign language. Planning a foreign language competence of Slovenian speakers. Slovene linguistic Infrastructure.
Language rights as a specific fundamental human rights. Language loyalty, language adaptation, linguistic vitality. Symbolic and ideological dimension of language.
Language planning and language policy institutions in Slovenia and the European Union. Formal aspects of the status of the language and other languages in the Republic of Slovenia.
