The course introduces students to a broad and complex issue of religion as an autonomous social and cultural areas. Students are thoroughly familiar with the basic conceptual categories that allow to think about the symbolic religious world, regardless of the specifics of each civilization or historical contexts. In this way, the course introduces the basic theoretical framework for understanding religious phenomena in society and history. In this context, the course deals with general concepts such as sacred-profane, collective and personal religion, myth, sacrifice, ritual, symbol, supernatural, divine, polytheism, monotheism, atheism, sacred times, sacred places and sacred sites or facilities, prayer, sacrifice , salvation. Study of the basic concepts and forms of individual development also shows the close relationship of religions (e) the development of civilizations (s), culture (s), philosophy (s) and arts, and the creation of social ties. From this point of view also introduces the knowledge of the world and other distinctive religions.
