C1 Language Competence

Developing language knowledge and skills.
Special emphasis on oral communication skills, listening/speech comprehension, types of communicative circumstances and understanding different discourse characteristics. Acquiring awareness of the role and significance of language-specific contexts for successful communication; obtaining skills of language anticipation. Students are expected to perfect their knowledge of grammatical structures. This includes learning and consolidating knowledge about individual grammatical structures and categories by analysing their occurence within discourse (also by means of contrastive analysis) and searching for appropriate translation solutions. The students practice sight translation and consecutive interpreting.
