Interdisciplinary focused course which offers students main definitions, theoretical and individual approaches with a view to globalization. Authors included are: Giddens, Scholte, Held, McGrew, Sassen, Kaldor, Beck, Urry, Bauman, Archibugi, Nye, Hedetoft, Tomlinson, Appadurai and others. Second part deals with sociological consequences which globalization affects in the selected areas of society, culture and politics. In the third part attention will be paid to the issues of democratization of globalization and globalization of democracy, respectively; further the causes and consequences of globalization related to the transformation of social geography and the growth of supra-national spaces.
