The purpose of the course is to present computer-assisted music research both in the field of humanities and social as well as natural science disciplines. It offers an overview on the history, theory, methodology and practice of computer-aided music analysis.
Students encounter digital content practically everywhere. However, the subject systematically summarizes the main issues of computer-assisted music processing and highlights the fundamental problems associated with it, technical, practical and ethical. It includes contents from historical and systematic ethno/musicology.
The topics and individual tasks change with each implementation of the course. Individual seminar assignments will be carried out in the form of individual work with a single-subject student and will bring 1 CT more.
