1. Counselling work and educational institution:
- Formal and professional framework of the counseling service in an educational institution.
- The concept of school counselling; characteristics of school counselling work; principles of school counselling, position of school counsellors in educational institution.
- Types of school counselling work: school counselling and personal counselling; internal school counselling service and external counselling service; crisis-curative counseling/activities in developmental and preventive counseling/activities.
- Organizational and operative solutions of counselling support in Slovenia and abroad.
2. Pedagogical and counselling theories:
- Characteristics of some pedagogical and counseling theories that influenced the development of the concept of school counseling work in Slovenia.
3. Cooperation and development-counseling work with children and adolescents:
- Developmental counselling (goals and tasks), particularities of developmental counselling in the pre-school and school period, in kindergarten, elementary and secondary school.
- Developmental-analytical study of the circumstances and development and learning of children and adolescents as a basis for preventive and developmental counseling work.
- Concepts of work with children and adolescents with special needs, with learning difficulties, gifted, immigrants. Study of the individual student's work, groups or entire population.
- Professional/career orientation.
4. Cooperation and consultation with teachers/educators:
- Objective and subjective conditions of successful cooperation/consultation work with teachers.
- Areas of mutual cooperation.
5. Cooperation and consultation with headteacher:
- Conditions and principles of cooperation between school counsellor and headteacher in conceiving and guiding educational arrangement of educational institution.
- Areas of mutual cooperation.
6. Cooperation and consultation with parents and external professional institutions/experts:
- Characteristics and forms of cooperation; areas of cooperation.
- Analysis of concrete ways and examples of mutual cooperation.
7. Planning and evaluation of school counseling work in an educational institution:
- Longterm and annual planning of school counsellor work.
- Work monitoring and (self)evaluation of work.
