The course consists of two parts. In the first part, the students learn about the key historical efforts in the sociology of music and in the second part, they are provided with an overview of the work in the fundamental theoretical socio-musical research.
Beside the overview of individual researchers from various fields of the sociology of music, a special emphasis remains on the interdisciplinary content links with the psychology of music, the theory of the musical sentence, philosophy, economy, epistemology and cultural science.
