Topics discussed: Spoken and written text; text in digital media. Text characteristics in terms of the medium and text type. Communication norms and text formation. Discursive universe as the formulator of linguistic meaning and of language and communication norms.

The meaning of the digital medium for the digital revolution in the humanities and the comprehensive transition of the humanities from the canon to the corpus. The significance of open science. The recognition of the ideological concept of advancing open science and, in contrast, the concept of preventing access to science, as well as the different positions in the Slovenian scientific context. Current activities in Slovenia in digital linguistics. Coming to terms with digital-born language resources.

Practical classes introduce students to text formation for the digital media. Students collaborate in projects dealing with upgrading openly accessible resources for Slovene and produce texts for popularizing digital Slovene studies as a contribution to open science.
