Lecturer(s): doc. dr. Moritoki Škof Nagisa
Students reinforce their reading skills using different reading methods, analysing and summarizing difficult Japanese texts of different genres. They enlarge their vocabulary through lexical analysis, linking, grouping and actively using newly acquired vocabulary and lexical patterns, while at the same time reinforcing and augmenting their knowledge of grammar and syntactical patterns. They analyse Japanese written texts from various content areas and with various functions, compare these texts with parallel Slovenian texts and practise translation of such texts from Slovenian to Japanese, considering the appropriateness of different translation strategies in different translation situations. Students reinforce their listening skills by listening to Japanese radio news and watching Japanese online television news and programmes on current events. They reinforce their writing skills by writing summaries and short reports. They reinforce their speaking skills by practicing oral presentations in Japanese in front of their fellow students and through debates.
