The course focuses on comparation of ancient conception of man, society and culture to the most important contemporary anthropologic and culturologic theories based on analyzing ancient and contemporary texts:
I.Homer, Hesiod (Theogony), Plato (Protagoras, Republic), Aristotle (Nichomachean Ethics, Politics), Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Herodotus, Lucretius, Cicero, Virgil, Ovid, Augustine;
II. Sturcturalism (Lévi-Strauss), poststructuralism, contemporary (psychoanalitic) theories of mythology, feminist anthropology
