• The history of North America with a focus on key events from the 15th century onwards;
• physical geography of North America (geological development and geomorphological features, climatogeography, hydrogeography, pedogeography and biogeography);
• environmental problems (climate change and air pollution, water resources management, water pollution, loss of plant and animal habitats, etc.);
• human geography (settlement, urbanization, the European transformation, European settlement and Native Americans, population growth, migration, ethnic, linguistic and religious characteristics, social aspects of human development, etc.);
• economic characteristics, globalization and development;
• overview of the cultural regions of the USA and Canada;
• political geography of USA and Canada;
• specific examples and problems of geographical development.
