In this course, the students get familiar with the following topics:
Basic concepts in statistics and psychological measurement (types of variables, measurement levels, notation)
Data entry and check up
Sorting cases and frequency distributions
Presenting results: Basic forms of graphs and tables
Basics of probability theory (combinatorics, probability, binomial and normal distribution)
Univariate descriptive statistics (measures of central tendency and relative numbers, dispersion, shape of distribution)
Linear correlation and regression
Correlation of ordinal and nominal variables
Theory of sampling
Confidence intervals and hypothesis testing
Theoretical distributions and parametric and non-parametric testing of hypotheses about basic statistics
Introduction to analysis of variance
