Tch. Asst. Matic Kristan

He obtained a BA in History and Latin and an MA in History at University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts. In 2024, he began working there as a young researcher at the research programme 'Slovene History'. His research is currently focused on the High and Late Middle Ages, mainly on studies of primary sources. He is writing a doctoral thesis on the canonist Monaldus of Koper (Capodistria) and his work Summa de iure canonico, which represents the first encyclopedia of law. In parallel, he is completing an MA in Latin and Greek. He is mostly interested in history from an institutional and economic perspective.
