Methodology of teaching history at elementary and secondary school level: study of different teaching approaches to history in elementary and secondary schools (learning history by discovery, note-taking, portfolio, active oral history, archaeological sources, written sources, visual sources, motivational techniques, types of assessment and grading, local history, fieldwork, outdoor education, museum work, research work ...).

Didactics of history: research of the didactic and methodological structure of Slovenian and foreign curricula, textbooks, school leaving examinations and handbooks for history; research of selected teaching content in textbooks and curricula for history in elementary and secondary schools (civic education, history of contemporary Arab countries, local history, archaeological heritage, oral history ...).

Higher education didactics of history: research and evaluation of the training of students - future history teachers (student course portfolio, alternative assessment with rubrics, individual consultations, interviews, quality indicators of student teaching practice, digital competence ...).
