Temeljna antropološka dela

Predmet predstavlja nekatere ključne “postaje” v zgodovini antropogije, pri čemer študenti in študentke spoznavajo posamezne teoretske pristope preko življenja in dela izbranih antropologinj in antropologov. Na ta način študenti in študenti preverijo in osvežijo že pridobljeno teoretsko znanje iz prejšnjih let ter ga nadgrajujejo preko poglobljene analize posameznih del ter primerjave metodoloških in teoretskih pristopov med izbranimi avtorji.
Predmet namenja posebno pozornost francoskemu in britanskemu funkcionalizmu, strukturalizmu, kulturnemu relativizmu in šoli kultura – osebnost, v zadnjem delu pa tudi interpretativni, eksistencialni antropologiji ter ontološkemu obratu. Tematsko se posveča antropologiji umetnosti in performativnih dejavnosti pa tudi problematiki telesa in telesnosti, nosečnosti in rojstva, življenja in smrti, simbolnim držam marginaliziranih družbenih skupin ipd.
Študentje in študentke podrobno analizirajo družbeno-kulturni kontekst nastanka posameznega dela ter njegov doprinos k zgodovini vede, razčlenjujo teoretske in metodološke vplive na posameznega avtorja in sledijo vplivom njegovih teorij na njegove naslednike.
